In 2008 my artwork took a twist as I became obsessed with rocks and roots on the island. Each piece tells it's story as I mix different mediums. I begin with a composition, add natures under-storey or tidal wash ups to the canvas, seal with gesso, then add my own touch using acrylic paint and ?nish with a varnish to seal.

These workshops are for those who want to explore the fragility of the eco-system in a small group of 4. This is great for a group of friends. The "Full Eco Experience" takes you through two separate workshops over 2 x 1/2 days.
In Workshop 1, you will prepare your canvas by selecting your own materials from nature's under-storey or nature's wash up from the tides. Then you will make your own composition with natural litter and glue it to a canvas. This will be sealed in preparation for workshop two.
In Workshop 2, you will bring your canvas alive by using paint to create your own unique Eco Art piece. When you've finished, we will varnish to seal your work and prepare it for hanging.
Cost: For the full Eco experience is $220.00 (incl.GST) which also includes all materials, guidance and preparation: a canvas; natures' understory washed and in some instances pressed; glue; brushes; paint; sealants; varnish; wrapping. (Extra cost for larger canvases and postage).
Flotsam Jetsam Workshops
Jules will also be holding 'Flotsam Jetsam' Workshops at the Spring Equinox Fair on Saturday 20 September between 12noon - 4pm at Alma Bay.
