Come along and celebrate the change of our seasons at the Spring Equinox Fair & Youth Talent Quest. Dress up as a hippy/earth child, an eco-friendly or wildlife character or anything that celebrates the land we live in, and enjoy the fun in Alma Park. Starting at 12 noon with lots of activities, folk dancing, workshops, info stalls, talks, demonstrations, face painting, food stalls and markets until 5pm. The day also includes the:
TOWNSVILLE AIRPORT PAPER PLANE COMPETITION: 1PM
Can you beat the Guinness World Record? This inaugural competition offers you the chance to test your skills at 1pm and with trophies for winners! Categories include:
• LONGEST DISTANCE FLIGHT for paper planes made on the day.
• MOST IMAGINATIVE/DECORATIVE PLANE for paper mache, origami, whatever you like as long as it’s paper, recycled is even better, and it can be a model (non-flying). Planes in this category can be made prior to the day.
Registration required by 12.30pm on the day. Gold coin donation appreciated.
MI MUSOS YOUTH TALENT QUEST: 3PM

WORKSHOPS & DEMOS: 12noon - 4pm
• FLOTSAM JETSAM WORKSHOP with Jules Woodlock
Flotsam Weaving Workshop: The weaving circle will provide you with natural materials, some darning needles and linen threads to create small items to take away. This takes time and patience and requires some ?ne motor skills so best for teenagers or adults.
Jetsam Painting Workshop: Decorating and mixing paint with nature and waste to create new objects of art. All ages welcome, but children must be supervised by adults.
Cost: $5.00 per person per workshop
Jules Artworks: Jules will hang her current exhibition Rocks & Roots for public viewing in amongst the Alma Bay Rocks as a backdrop to the workshops. To view her art exhibit at other times, drop by to 40 Armand Way, Arcadia when the blue umbrella is up, you can do so by calling her on 0400 431 019 to arrange an appointment. Jules is also offering Bush Studio Workshops throughout the 2014 Festival.
