Well known Townsville artist Sue Tilley will be holding a public meeting at 2pm on Sunday 7 April at the old Picnic Bay School in the grounds of the Magnetic Island History and Craft Centre in Granite St, next to the police station. At the meeting and Sue's talk of the project, Sue will be asking local residents to bring along pieces of metal that can be included and welded into the sculpture that will be revealed as part of the School's centenary celebrations (later in the year), and with the aim to strengthen community, identity a piece of welded public art will be unveiled.
