• Move More Easily, Improve Alignment & Care For Your Back

Having problems with your posture, balance or movement?

In this introduction to the Feldenkrais Method of movement education you'll learn easy and interesting ways to improve your movement and posture, gain suppleness, better balance and coordination and prevent injuries and strain -- by simply lying around and refining your self-awareness!

When:
Thursdays 11th April - 2nd May (4 sessions) 6.30-7.30pm
Please arrive by 6.20pm for a 6.30pm start.

Where:
Nelly Bay, Magnetic Island 4819 (Details to be supplied upon registration).

Who are these classes for?
These sessions are designed for people who are new to Feldenkrais and who can comfortably lie on the floor for about 45 mins on their back, side or tummy, get down to and up from the floor without assistance (or by using a prop such as a chair), and/or who can comfortably sit in a chair for 30 mins.

What people say:

“Long-standing knee injuries might have prevented me from participating, however I found the classes helped me to relax a lot better, even afterwards. Each class was like having a little holiday. I would definitely recommend this course to others as it would help them to stretch out, become more supple and feel better, particularly if they’re stiff or sore. The courses are a good way to become aware of what your body’s doing and to meet new people.”
– Ellen Polglase, Townsville Jan 2013

Course fees:
4 x 1-hour sessions: $44/$32 Concession
(Concession = Pension and Concession card holders)
Many private health insurance providers give rebates for the The Feldenkrais Method. Please ask your insurance provider for more details.

What to bring to class:
• Wear comfortable clothes, shorts or trousers and singlet or T-shirt (no skirts, please). It's best to remove your glasses, jewellery and watch.
• A couple of thick rugs/mats at least 1 metre wide to lie on, (a mattress is probably too soft unless you are in great pain. It's best to have a very firm surface in order to maximise the effectiveness of the lessons);
• A large towel to be used as a roller/support, or bring two towels if you find it at all uncomfortable to lie on your back without a support under your head/neck.
• A water bottle.
