You're invited to join the opening ceremony for 'Gabul Way' on Sunday 3 March at Geoffrey Bay end of the walkway from 10am - 1pm. With an official ribbon cutting ceremony by Mayor Jenny Hill, live entertainment, market stalls, a free sausage sizzle plus you can go into the draw to win a Red Baron flight over Magnetic Island, it's sure to be a very fun celebration for this major infrastructure project on Magnetic Island.
Gabul Way is the new walkway from Nelly Bay to Geoffrey Bay which has been underway since May 2012, and in planning for a few decades. The 710m walkway is a joint initiative between the Commonwealth Government and Townsville City Council and will form a key part of Magnetic Island’s recreational infrastructure.
