If you’re looking for a spectacularly good time for all the family at the movies, UP is the film for you. In UP, 78-year-old Carl, remembers how, as a child in the 1930s, he became fascinated with an intrepid explorer who discovered a giant bird while on an expedition to the Andes. Rather than go to a retirement home, Carl sets off in his house, lifted off the ground by thousands of balloons, heading for the Andes – but he has an unexpected passenger – 8-year-old Russell. The animation, especially in 3D, is exceptional and there are plenty of exciting and comical adventures for the old man and the young boy, many of them involving the endearing Kevin, a brightly coloured bird with a mind all his own.
