!! Thatching Workshop !!

The replica Bottiger Hut in the grounds at MIHCC suffered badly during Cyclone Yasi, and the thatched roof was lost. MIHCC are pleased to advise that the creator of the hut, artist Tony Cuthbertson, has agreed to teach us how to fix the hut by conducting a FREE Thatching Workshop this Saturday 20th August from 10am to 12 noon at Magnetic Island History And Craft Centre. All welcome.
You will need to bring: Secueteurs, gloves and some fresh golden cane palm fronds, if you can get them. Charlie McColl will also be bringing some golden cane for us to use - thanks Charlie!
