!!! World Oceans Day !!!

On Saturday 4 June Magnetic Island will celebrate World Oceans Day (Wed 8 June). This world wide project connects 85 countries who are focussed on protecting, as well as celebrating about our world's oceans.

This will be a great day of celebration with lots of prizes and fun for everyone!

Alma Bay Park: 10am - 2pm (Stalls and info market)
Duie the Dugong will make a special appearance
• Exhibitions and outdoor 'green' market.
• Lots of fun for kids!

10.00am: Opening speech
10.15am: Nippers to announce raffles and display of their skills
Meet and greet the wonderful
Duie the Dugong at two sessions (10.15am and at 12.30pm).
11.00am: Judging of Children’s Fancy Dress
11.45am: Human words on the beach, wear blue or bring blue board to create aerial view photos
12 noon:
Children’s Hoop Display
12.30am: Presentation of special awards and announce first prize winner for registration
12.35pm: Kite flying display/lessons on beach
1.30pm: Second Prize Draw
2.00pm: Closing speeches and thank you’s

Horseshoe Bay: 2pm - evening
2.30pm:
Sasha’s Sandcastle Competition
4.00pm: Youth Talent Quest @ Barefoot, Art Food & Wine
6.00pm: Fire Flyz World Ocean's Day special fire-twirling show!!

Base Backpackers, Nelly Bay: 7pm - Midnight

Beach Clean Ups!
This is your chance to really make a difference. Beach clean ups are happening all day, just register the day before if you want to do an early morning clean up on the day.

REGISTER AT: The Information Tent at Alma Bay Park from 10am-1.30pm.
Early bird beach cleanups can be done by registering at Noodies (Horseshoe Bay), Cafe Sunbirdz (Picnic Bay) and Base Backpackers (Nelly Bay).
