Arcadia Coastcare will be holding an informal gathering for residents and visitors to find out more about identifying grasses in Magnetic Island gardens and public areas, presented by Nanette Hooker, JCU Herbarium curator and author of 'Grasses of Townsville'.
Date: Thursday 25th February
At: The Bowls Club
Time: 9.15 for 9.30 start to 12 noon.

Bring along your grass samples and Nanette will identify them.
There will be opportunity for questions and answers and advice on encouraging native grasses.
Samples must be bagged in a clear, sealed bag and labelled with your name and location where the sample was collected. Samples must not be obtained from National Park without the appropriate permissions.
Grasses are one of the most difficult plant types to identify so if you’ve ever been curious about grasses in your garden or around the island, this event is for you!
