This Sunday 19 July 2020 features the Magnetic Island Triathlon from 7am to 12pm.
Registration opens at 0:6.00 Race Start is 08:00.
Coming from Townsville? Catch the 06.30 SeaLink Ferry (50% discount for ADULT return) and you will have plenty of time, OR, registration will open from 6:00am if you are on the island. Returning to Townsville? You will make the return ferries at 11:10 or 15:15.
This year’s event is being run subject to the Qld Govt Stage 3 COVID19 Easing of Restrictions. Due to the current uncertainty around future restrictions, the event organisers are offering you certainty around COVID19 and your entry fees. In the case where the race cannot be held on the 19th July due to either Aust Govt or Qld Health restrictions around Stage 3 not being in place, Event organisers will make one of the following decisions:
The race and your entry will be automatically transferred to a postponed Magnetic Island Triathlon event (likely 23rd August 2020); Or the race will be cancelled and 100% entry fees returned.
As part of safety protocols, you can only compete on the day if you are healthy and free of all signs of infection. If you feel unwell you should not race, AND you should seek medical advice. Based on an applicable medical certificate, we will immediately refund all your entry fees.
We can also advise you that we are conducting this event in accordance with the Triathlon Australia Guidelines for COVID 19 and the conduct of events. Should you have any specific questions or concerns please contact us prior to completing your online entry: Please note, while spectators are able to be present on many part’s of the course, they will be restricted from some zones of the race start / finish / transition area as we manage social distancing protocols.
