Magnetic Island vet Dr Ali Bee our accredited koala carer, and who has nursed four koalas back to full health and correct weight, will be releasing them in the vicinity of the Sphinx Lookout at around 4.30pm on Sunday 30 October.
Everyone is welcome to join this momentous event, but please remind children that koalas are wild animals and at the point of release we must all be quiet and still.
To access the Sphinx Lookout:
Join the National Parks entry track at the top of Endeavour Road, Arcadia. Then follow the beginning of the Arcadia-Nelly walking track and take the side turn to the Sphinx - its something of an uphill hike but great views and especially worthwhile if you have never explored up there. NB: Please be aware that if you drive to Endeavour Road, parking is limited, please do not block residents driveways.
Gold coin donation is appreciated as this helps to offset the costs of the foods and drugs etc. that Dr Ali uses. (Funds are formally assisted by MICDA).
