Whether you want to find a great BBQ spot or drop the boat in for a sail, here are a couple of the Magnetic Island services and facilities which you may find handy:

Ambulance
For emergency ambulance call 000.

ATM's are located at, Picnic Bay Hotel, Foodworks Nelly Bay, Arcadia Hotel, and Foodworks Horseshoe Bay. EFTPOS is also available at most island businesses.

Bank
There is 1 bank on Magnetic Island - Queensland Country Credit Union, located at Nelly Bay Harbour shops (near the bakery).

Bakery
The main Magnetic Island bakery is at the corner of Mandalay Ave and Sooning St, opposite the harbour (and next to the bank). The MI Pie Shop is at the small kiosk opposite the bakery. You'll also find great treats at Arcadia Store, Foodworks Nelly Bay, IGA and many of the small island cafes.

BBQ Areas
Free public BBQ areas are located at:
• Picnic Bay Jetty Park
• Nelly Bay Esplanade, Sooning St Nelly Bay
(at the end of Mandalay Ave)
• Alma Bay
• Horseshoe Bay
Please keep Magnetic Island beautiful by removing all your rubbish and cleaning the BBQ's once you have finished.

There are 3 boat ramps on Magnetic Island:

Bottle Shops
There are 4 bottle shops on Magnetic Island, located at:
• Picnic Bay Hotel
• Nelly Bay Bottle Shop (Next to Nelly Bay Foodworks)
• Arcadia Hotel
• Marlin Bar (Horseshoe Bay)

Chemist
The chemist is located at the Nelly Bay Foodworks shopping centre.

There is a great selection of health and beauty businesses available, from beauticians and hairdressers to massage therapists, yoga and holistic remedies. For more information check under 'personal' here.

Hospital (See Doctors and Medical Centres above)
Townsville is the largest local hospital to Magnetic Island. In severe cases a helicopter services the island.

Newsagent
The main newsagency, Arcadia News, is located opposite Alma Bay Park, next to the Hotel Arcadia bus stop.

There are two petrol/fuel stations on the island:
• Fish'n N Fuel'n, Mandalay Ave, Nelly Bay.
• Arcadia Store, Bright Ave, Arcadia.

Police
The police station is located in Picnic Bay, although it unattended it diverts to Townsville.

Post Office
The post office is located in the Nelly Bay Harbourside shopping centre, on the corner of Sooning Street and Mandalay Ave.

Primary School & Daycare
Magnetic Island State School is located in Mandalay Avenue for primary school education and Magnetic Island Creche and Kindergarten is located in Sooning Street, Nelly Bay.
