On the first Saturday of every month, the Magnetic Island Film Society (MIFS), hosts a great selection of films at All Seasons Resort, Mandalay Avenue, Nelly Bay.
The Magnetic Island Film Society (MIFS)
The Magnetic Island Film Society
MIFS was established to bring recently-released high quality Australian and international films to the island that would not normally enjoy a run on the commercial film venues in Townsville.
Annual Magnetic Island Film Festival
MIFS also runs the Annual Magnetic Island Film Festival which is held over the Labour Day holiday long weekend (the first weekend in May).
Five main feature films are shown over the three days with each main film being preceded by a selected award-winning short film.
MIFS Membership and admission
MIFS annual membership fee is $50 for individual adults (this includes a shared membership for two "partnered" adults) and $40 as a concession rate. This entitles members to free entry to the monthly screenings, which cost non-members $10 or $8 for concession tickets. (Rates subject to review).
