Festival Programming - Join the island fun!
The programming for each Festival is from January to May each year. If you would like to organise an event or volunteer your time, simply contact the Festival committee.

We're always open to including new ideas for the Festival and any help you would like to offer to make the Festival the best it can be!

Sponsors and financial support - We need you to survive
Firstly we'd like to say a special thanks to all of our previous sponsors. Without you we couldn't survive. Unfortunately the cost of holding the Festival increases each year, even though we work on a shoestring.

If you would like to sponsor an event or add some dollars to the kitty, simply contact the Festival committee committee and we'll send you a copy of our full 2016 Sponsorship Proposal.

What is the MI Festival about?
Over the past eight years the Magnetic Island Community Development Association (MICDA) has built on the great partnerships with local community groups, artists, businesses and volunteers who are all contributing to a month of inspiring activities and fun events.

Events are created by the community for the community to encourage a cross-pollination of ideas and fun, plus giving everyone the chance to get together. With a small resident community we deliberately do not theme the festival, it is not an arts or a sports events, it is all encompassing – and each year we add something quirky to catch attention.

How did the Magnetic Island Festival start and where is it now?
In 2006 the Bay Dayz Festival was just one weekend of music on Horseshoe Bay foreshore as a celebration for the 2,000+ permanent residents of this island community.

With five main residential bays and a total of 23 beaches and bays, it now celebrates the island's culture with four weeks and five weekends of stimulating events across the whole island!
